Hot-dipped galvanized PC Strand is an essential material in modern construction and infrastructure projects that demand high strength, low relaxation, and superior corrosion resistance. This galvanized steel strand is widely used in bridges, marine structures, and prestressed concrete systems, proving its reliability and durability in challenging environments.
By choosing hot-dip galvanized PC strand, engineers and builders ensure long-lasting, cost-effective, and high-performance solutions suitable for harsh and demanding conditions.
Each strand is protected with a hot-dip galvanized zinc coating, offering strong fatigue resistance and outstanding corrosion protection. During production, individual steel wires are passed through a zinc bath — a process known as hot-dip galvanizing. The final strand is twisted from 7 hot-dip galvanized steel wires, ensuring optimal strength and durability.
To ensure quality, the adhesion of the galvanized coating is verified through a wrapping test. After six turns of winding, the zinc coating must remain intact, without peeling or detachment.
The galvanized PC strand is composed of multiple high-carbon steel wires (typically 3, 7, or 19), twisted together to achieve maximum load-bearing capacity. This provides exceptional strength for prestressed concrete and tension-based structures.
A durable hot-dip galvanized zinc coating safeguards the steel strands against corrosion, oxidation, and chemical exposure. This galvanized coating ensures long-term performance even in aggressive environments such as marine or industrial zones.
Commonly used in prestressed concrete applications, galvanized PC strands can withstand high tensile stress, significantly enhancing the structural performance and longevity of concrete components.
Thanks to the hot-dip galvanized coating, the strand’s lifespan is greatly extended. It resists rust and deterioration even in offshore, marine, and coastal projects, where moisture and salt are constant threats.
The low relaxation property ensures that galvanized PC strands retain their tension over long periods, minimizing maintenance needs and ensuring continuous structural stability.
Available in different diameters and configurations, these galvanized steel strands can be customized to fit various construction requirements.

Some common attentions in using our galvanized pc strand.
The deflection tensile coefficient of standard galvanized steel strands (non-bridge use) should not exceed 28%.
For bridge cable systems, the deflection tensile coefficient should be no more than 20%.
During fatigue testing for general applications, the galvanized steel strand must endure 2 million load cycles without breaking.
The strand surface must have a continuous zinc layer, free of iron exposure, local dezincification, or other surface defects.
