FAQ

Q: What are longitudinal welded pipes?

A: Longitudinal welded pipes are steel pipes manufactured by welding along the length of the pipe. They are made using Submerged-Arc Welding (SAW) and are available in single or double-welded forms (LSAW and DSAW).

Q: What materials are used to make these pipes?

A: They are commonly made from carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel. Specific steel grades include API 5L (GR B, X42–X70), ASTM A53 (GR A–C), EN (S275, S355), and GB (Q195–L555).

Q: What sizes are available?

  • Outer Diameter: 355.6 mm – 1626 mm

  • Wall Thickness: 8 – 50 mm

  • Length: up to 12 meters

Q: What coatings and surface treatments are available?

A: Various coatings are available to enhance corrosion resistance:

  • Fusion Bond Epoxy (FBE)

  • Coal Tar Epoxy

  • 3PE Coating

  • Bitumen Coating

  • Black Oil Coating

  • Vanish Coating

Q: How are these pipes tested for quality?

A: They undergo rigorous testing, including:

  • Chemical component analysis

  • Mechanical tests: tensile, yield, elongation

  • Technical tests: flattening, bending, blow, impact tests

  • Hydrostatic testing and X-ray inspection
All pipes come with a Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204/3.1B).
